Basic California Probate Facts
Probate is a legal process for wrapping up the
affairs of
a person who has died. Property is then transferred to the
"heirs" entitled to inherit it. In California,
probate is
required whether or not the deceased had a will, unless ALL
of the deceased's property was in a living trust. California
probate
and inheritance usually takes six months to two years.
